Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in us the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy Your consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Walk to Emmaus

“Walk to Emmaus” is a three-day experience that takes a New Testament look at Christianity as a lifestyle. Emmaus is a combined effort of laity and clergy serving side-by-side to renew and develop the local church.

Through participation in a “Walk to Emmaus” weekend you will discover how grace is authentic in your life, how you can live in the life of grace, and bring grace to others. You will also experience God’s grace personally through the acts of a living support community.

If you have a desire to participate in “Walk to Emmaus” Prayerfully consider that Emmaus is for the growth of Christian leaders who: wish to strengthen their personal relationship with Christ; may have unanswered questions about prayer, study, and sharing their faith; understand that being a Christian involves responsibility; and are willing to dedicate their everyday lives to God in the style God has created them to do.

The Upper Room, a ministry unit of the General Board of Discipleship of The United Methodist Church, sponsors the Walk to Emmaus and offers it through local Emmaus groups around the world. Although connected through The Upper Room to The United Methodist Church, The Walk to Emmaus is ecumenical.
